PleaseSign provides identity verification functionality to enable PleaseSign users to request verification of an individual’s identity before or during electronic document signing.
Identity verification is intended to assist PleaseSign users to reduce fraud risk and to support their own legal, regulatory, or compliance processes. Identity verification is optional and is enabled at the discretion of the PleaseSign user.
Identity verification services are provided using third-party technology, including services powered by Stripe Identity.

Personal information collected during identity verification is handled in accordance with PleaseSign’s Privacy Policy and the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). Biometric information is treated as sensitive information under APP 3 and is collected and handled accordingly.
Identity verification does not guarantee that a person is who they claim to be and does not guarantee compliance with any law, regulation, or industry requirement.
